On September 20, 2001, George W. Bush used the term War on Terror for the first time and used it during his presidency. The war was described as a Global War on Terror as its official name. He used the term, War on Terror, to argue global military and political struggle against both terrorists and regimes accused of supporting them. But their main focus was on countries with association with Islamic terrorist groups. The war was announced over during the Obama Administration.

US Involvement
The US became involved because of the multiple terrorist attacks on the US. Such as the attacks on the Pentagon and the Twin Towers.

Weapons
The methods used by the United States to combat with the terrorist groups was flying drones over countries in the Middle East (above) to spy and to drop explosives on. And also the sending of troops to Iraq and Afghanistan.
